About Me
My name is Jeanne Hanlon and I am a certified lactation consultant and registered nurse with over 25 years of experience in maternity care at top Boston hospitals. I’ve taught childbirth education classes to expectant parents for 7 years at BIDMC as well as instructed maternity care to nursing students at Simmons College. After earning my IBCLC* designation in 2017, I decided to become a specialist in Lactation Consultation. Among my roles at BIDMC has been the instruction of breastfeeding best practices to the OBGYN doctors. And as a proud parent of three, I have navigated the anticipation, anxiety, struggles, and feelings of inadequacy surrounding childbirth and breastfeeding. It doesn’t have to be this way. Personally, I know I would have greatly benefited from a service like The Nest. After regularly being asked by patients if I could go home with them, I realized the need new families have for this service. I find it extremely gratifying to now be in a position to offer this guidance and support, and play a small role in helping my clients on their amazing, life-changing journey.
